The James Beard Awards ceremony, the Oscars of the food and beverage industry was held in New York at the Marriott Marquis Hotel on Monday, May 5, 2003. The gala event was attended by approximately 1600 of the top industry leaders, including Jacques Pepin, Jacques Torres, and Daniel Boulud. Nick Versteeg won his first James Beard award in 2001 for his documentary “On the Road to Bocuse d’Or”.
